Women carry contradictions that cannot be resolved - and do not need to be. Strength and tenderness at once. Something clear and something entirely hidden. There is an invisible tension in them between who they are and who they must be. Between what they show and what they carry inside.
Her father's darkroom was in the bathroom. That is where it started. She grew up surrounded by his film rolls and his passion for photography - which, quietly and inevitably, became hers too. What began as inherited curiosity grew into a dedicated practice shaped by years of workshops across Poland and abroad, and an instinct for the image that was never taught, only deepened.
Agnieszka Czyżkowska is a Polish fine art photographer based in Warsaw, specialising in black and white portraiture. Her work focuses exclusively on women - exploring the psychological and emotional layers beneath the surface of femininity. Her photographs have received recognition at major international awards including the Muse Photography Awards, Budapest International Foto Awards, and the New York Photo Awards. In 2024 she was ranked among the World's Top 10 Black and White Photographers, placing second in Poland.
